Novo Toyota Dyna

I have received a brochure for the new Toyota Dyna 100, 150 SWB and 150 LWB today and I have to say it looks very nicehttp://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/1luvu.gif ALT=":[love]">    .

The only problem is the total weight the 150 LWB can carry. It is not that much at only 1,345 kgs nearly 1.5 tons (not including the body)

It would not be able to carry as much as the older BU30 about 4,000 kgs or 4 tons no problem (including the body)

Engine (150 LWB)

Engine Type:                  D-4D, Common Rail, Diesel.
Fuel Injection System:     Direct Injection.
Induction:                     Turbo Charger with intercooler.
Capacity (cc) :               2494.
Max. Power @ Rpm:         102 bhp (975kw) / 3,000.
Max. Torque @ Rpm:        260 Nm / 1,400 - 2,600.
Transmission:                  5 Speed manual.

This is the biggest Dyna available in Ireland of this model at the momenthttp://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">

I called it the new Dyna because it is the latest Dyna model in the Dyna family http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Hummm ok, that´s it!

I see them every day for 3 or 4 years now! Never understood why the previous model didin´t last more time. It was a fast change! It isn´t very normal on Toyota commercial vehicles!

I suppose you are right about that. Toyota usually keeps a Dyna model much longer than the previous one.

It is probably because of its competitors like Isuzu and Mitsubishi. Before this Dyna was released everyone would have bought an NPR or Canter. The previous Dyna could not compare with these as regards looks and comfort.

I didin´t know that Shane! Here in Portugal the previous models was a sucess, it sold much more than the actual model but i believe it´due to more options available on the market today.

The last model has an excellent value for money around here.

Rviper,

O, I see. The latest model Dyna is becoming more popular now in Ireland.

I would not have bought the previous model Dyna to use I most likely would have bought an Isuzu NPR or NQR.

This is also because in Ireland the previous Dyna was not available with twin rear wheels for some reasonhttp://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/conf40.gif ALT=":[huu]">

Did you have the previous Dyna in Portugal as a twin wheel?......You probably did because of the Ovar plant?

Kaizen

Yes we did.

I can´t remember all version accurately, but we had the small one "180" and 180 doble cab, the best seller "280" (Great engine for LandCruiser swaps) and "400" with diesel engine 4.2 i believe.

I´ll try to be more specificic in the next days.

Thanks Rviper. That is right I never saw a 150 or 280 in that generation Dyna in Ireland.

We had the 1985 150 (same as the 1989 150 that you have shown).

I actually have a sales brochure for that generation of Dyna from 1985!

It shows the 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 350 and minibus all together!

I will take a picture of it and post it up soon.

The 1985 Dyna 200 crewcab used the crew cab extention that was designed for the RU30 cab.

Thankshttp://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/thumb.gif ALT=":[fixe]">

Here is an example of the crewcab extention that was designed for the RU30 and was also used on the 1985 DYNA crewcab.
